 MY JOURNAL:

          Being a student is like a baby, waking up so early. My mother wakes me up as sweet as the solemn sound of cherubs when they strike their golden harps. As the sun greeted me every morning, I feel so safe and warm. At school I’m as busy as a bee and attending my first subject makes me bored and blue. But time is money and I should not waste this for me to pass as easy as shooting fish in a barrel. Listening to my teacher is like beating a drum where the same sounds are coming out. Everyday many opportunities knocked on the door, so I welcomed him with my two opened hands. As the bell shout ring ring ring for the time, and when my teacher said thank you and goodbye, I feel so excited like a little girl ready to eat her favourite candy. Ready for my next class having those smiley eyes of mine.

·         Rhymes are types of poems which have the the repetition of the same or similar sounds at the end of two or more words most often at the ends of lines. This technique makes the poem easy to remember and is therefore often used in Nursery Rhymes. Types of Poetry
·         Poetry that certain letters, usually the first in each line form a word or message when read in a sequence.
·         A story in a song usually a narrative song or poem. Any form of story may be told as a ballad (not to be confused with a ballade), ranging from accounts of historical events to fairy tales in verse form. It is usually with foreshortened alternating four- and three-stress lines ('ballad meter') and simple repeating rhymes, and often with a refrain.
·         A Cinquain has 5 lines-based on the number of syllables or words:

·         A stanza or poem consisting of four lines. In the basic form, Lines 2 and 4 must rhyme while having a similar number of syllables
·         A lengthy lyric poem typically of a serious or meditative nature and having an elevated style and formal stanza structure. A classic ode is structured in three parts: the strophe, the antistrophe, and the epode. Different forms such as the homostrophic ode and the irregular ode also exist.





          5 Important Elements of a Story

A character is a person, or sometimes even an animal, who takes part in the action of a short story or other literary work.

The setting of a short story is the time and place in which it happens. Authors often use descriptions of landscape, scenery, buildings, seasons or weather to provide a strong sense of setting.

A plot is a series of events and character actions that relate to the central conflict.


The conflict is a struggle between two people or things in a short story. The main character is usually on one side of the central conflict.
On the other side, the main character may struggle against another important character, against the forces of nature, against society, or even against something inside himself or herself (feelings, emotions, illness).


The theme is the central idea or belief in a short story.
